Scenes from the second world war are to be projected onto Buckham Palace for 6 nights this week, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the end of the conflict.
The Queen personally approved all 300 images, which include rare pictures of her father, King George VI, Winston Churchill, Neville Chamberlain and even of Adolf Hitler. The pictures also include scenes from the battle fronts, the blitz, tanks, ships, planes and pictures for ordinary men and women who fought in the conflict.
The display will take place each night from tomorrow night until the 10th July, starting at 21:00 and lasting for 20 minutes. It forms part of a series of events to highlight the UK's first Veterans Awareness Week, with a service at Westminster Abbey and number of events planned for Sunday.
