Ten months after the official opening by the Queen, the £3.6 million Diana Memorial re-opens today. And the Royal Parks authorities, who are in charge of the fountain, are quoted as saying: 'Nothing is going to go wrong this time!'
After a series of embarrassing problems and a more than £200,000 repair bill, in part caused by a massive underestimation of the number of people who would visit the fountain, a spokesman for the Royal Parks added: 'It's a low key re-opening. The fountain is just being returned to the park. There's no need for a big ceremony.' No, otherwise we'd be on our 3rd or 4th!
